This wooden document was made as a quick reference table for the sexagenary cycle. Back then, government offices and such would use the sexagenary cycle to indicate years and dates, and this quick reference table was made for that purpose. It is a seven-sided stick with each side showing combinations of the 10 stems and 12 branches. There are holes between the terms where a small stick could be inserted for everyday use. Few date sticks have been excavated, so this is a precious historical source to know about the everyday use of calendars and the sexagenary cycle in antiquity.
