Plan of the Castle (1849)

According to the inscription on the back, this is a copy of the plan that was submitted to the delegates of the shogunate, Shingobei Aoki and Chikara Honda, in 1849. It is colorfully presented with seven tints indicating samurai residences (green), housing for foot-soldiers and horsemen (brown), housing for the bourgeoisie and farmers (pink), temples (white), moats (silver), roads (yellow), and mounds (black). It also tells us the directions, county names, river names, and constellation of walls and buildings of Tentoku temple and Hakuba temple.
