Yoshimine Satake (1690–1749)

The fifth lord of Kubota domain who reigned for 34 years

Since Yoshitada died young without an heir, his uncle Yoshimine inherited the lordship. Yoshimine promoted Confucian studies and put effort into monetizing the local economy by establishing a mint in the domain. He also worked on people’s welfare by building a charity house during a poor harvest. Financial difficulties forced him to reintroduce the system of chigyo-kariage (“compulsory borrowing from officials”).
