Akita International University is a four-year college of international liberal arts, founded in 2004 (869 undergraduate students and 36 graduate students as of April 1, 2017). It is a highly competitive college, with an acceptance rate of around 10%. All courses are offered entirely in English and all undergraduate students spend a year in a study abroad program.<\/p>\n
