Yoshiharu Satake (1723–1758)

The seventh lord of Kubota domain who reigned for five years

Yoshiharu implemented reforms to help the poor, invigorate industry, and address the financial difficulties of the domanial government. However, the issuance of gin-fuda (“silver-convertible notes”), which was expected to increase the domain’s revenue, put the domanial economy in turmoil, which eventually led to a political crisis (the “Gin-fuda Affair”).
